Sclerotherapy is a simple and popular in-office procedure for eliminating spider and varicose veins. A sclerosing solution is injected into the noticeable veins causing them to collapse and fade from view. This is a simple procedure to help rid you of those unsightly spider veins.
Sclerotherapy treats the following conditions
- Varicos veins
- Reticular veins
- Spider veins
Can I live without these veins?
Spider veins are thin superficial dilated veins in the skin that branch off from the main vascular system. Although these veins are part of the vascular system, they are smaller and do not significantly affect the way blood flows.
Does it hurt?
This procedure is meant to reduce pain that is often associated with your veins. There may be mild discomfort from the needle insertion and injection.
Will I ever get spider veins again?
Sclerotherapy does not affect the main vascular system which is the source for spider veins. New spider veins will become apparent in the future, but some measures can be taken to decrease the reccurence.
Do I need more than one treatment?
Multiple treatments may be necessary. Each time a treatment is performed, the veins either disappear or become less dense and smaller. Results may vary.
